Warwick Estate is one of the absolute gems of South Africa’s prized Stellenbosch region – and making brawny, balanced, utterly delicious CABERNET SAUVIGNONS is just what they do! We NEVER get enough Stellenbosch wine for y’all – most of the best stuff never leaves the country in any sort of quantity, but THIS!!! We scored, and our ship just landed with some of South Africa’s BEST! The Blue Lady was the first ever wine Warwick crafted back in 1984 – and 40 years later this is one of the country's most internationally renowned wines. It even became a wine of choice for James Bond – and we all know how infamously pristine his palate is!

Think somewhere between the highly-stylized plush fruit and richness of a pricey Napa cab and the rocky, graphite, and pure earth character of a known Bordeaux house in the Medoc, and you’re getting in the wheelhouse of what this beauty is all about. Clean and fruit-driven, a juicy-juice core of dark berries, uplifted by bright and zippy blue fruits, with an elegant violet and lilac perfume, followed by this rich plum, smoky bay leaf, and classy, sweet oak and polished leather finish…DANG! Pencil shavings too! And this gorgeously alluring vanilla note! I can’t stop sipping! Thirsty Tuesday, for sure…and what a quencher this is! Under $30 for a 100% cabernet sauvignon like this is simply larceny – tastes like something way, WAY more pricey!

Warwick focuses on single-vineyard expressions from their estate on the utterly stunning slopes of Simonsberg Mountain – basically considered a GRAND CRU – with Stellenbosch. These folks were some of the first to bring the red grapes of Bordeaux to the region and every wine-loving soul in the world should say THANK YOU for that…add this winery to your bucket list – the views are simply AMAZING. And the wine? Even better.
