Cornerstone Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Benchlands Napa Valley 2016

*** deer-in-the-headlights blank stare ***

GO! No, wait, STOP! Whatever you are doing, STOP IT for 30 seconds and LOCK this up! An all-time Last Bottle GREAT, the nigh-on-perfect 2016 vintage. Who’s ready for CORNERSTONE?! Way over 50% OFF...AND 91 POINTS!

Oh, happy day! Gobsmacked, we are. Speechless. 2016 NAPA CABERNET SAUVIGNON, from choice vineyards in the heart of Napa – Saint Helena, Rutherford, and Oakville, OH MY! This is so outrageous, such a neuron-blasting deal, we’ll be needing our rarely-used bullet points to cram it all in. Just make SURE you get some – I mean, you’re seeing that price, right??! BOOM! Good luck!

- Who made this? Well, Kari Auringer, for one, was assistant winemaker to Celia Welch (Scarecrow, Corra, and dozens more) for 7 years, and Charles Thomas (Cardinale, Lokoya, Mondavi Reserve, Quintessa, and many more)!

- You’ve heard us braying and howling about the 2016 vintage for years. This is 100% why. Wait 'til you taste it...if you are fast enough...

- Oakville, Saint Helena, and Rutherford fruit – made by these two masters of the craft...YES

- Ummm...the price?!

Ok, I hope you grabbed some! Onto the wine – in the lush, concentrated, and finely tuned ‘16 vintage – this is just fantastic. Seven years young and SINGING! The nose rocks out of the glass with ripe plums, molasses, toasted Asian spices (thinkin’ star anise here), black cherry,  and perfumey violet flowers...plus chocolate covered maraschino cherry, red currant jam and fig notes, and a rich, sweet mouth coating texture with a baker's chocolate finish...oh baby! What can we say? Not-for-the-shy! OVER 50% OFF! Did you see the insane price? While it lasts...

Blackberry, dark Bing cherry, and a hint of licorice notes lead the charge, with a touch of vanilla and a touch of ripe plum close behind. The first sip is as smooth and luscious as you might expect. The sweet black fruit at the start is intertwined with complex layers of cassis, dark chocolate, blueberries, and baking spice. The finish lingers with spice and sweet fruit, on a bed of supple tannins, which simply begs for another sip. This has everything we have come to know and love about Cabernet grown in the best viticultural areas of Napa Valley.

About The Producer

In 1991 Michael Dragutsky embarked on a quest to deliver on the potential he saw in a select few of Napa Valley’s finest mountain and benchland Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards. Since that time, Cornerstone's signature winemaking style of firm structure and nuanced texture have attracted an ever-growing number of Cornerstone Cellars admirers while remaining true to Napa’s robust, delicious wine profile on the world wine stage.
Twenty-six years in, the next generation of Cornerstone Cellars sales and winemaking teams bring to market a diverse portfolio of Cabernet Sauvignon wines –of which each one delivers a focused flavor profile - with realistic pricing to match. Now more than ever, they are resolved to implement a long-term brand development strategy and to constantly renew their commitment to that original winemaking ideology and style.
