Ca'Erto Amarone della Valpolicella 2017 - Last Bottle

Ca'Erto Amarone della Valpolicella 2017

Ca’Erto is BACK! It’s simply madness to ignore ANYTHING from the amazing Magnabosco family, but this Amarone is in a different league altogether. 95 POINTS! Best price on Earth, and most importantly – astonishingly delicious, savory, head-spinning quality!! Wow!

$41, yes, FORTY-ONE dollars off retail. That’s better than 50% OFF…on a gloriously rare AMARONE! So PLEASE, please, if you love luscious, sexy, hedonistic, velvety northern Italian pixie-dust magic, go, go, go, and grab this supple, fine beast ASAP. Sound advice from your trusty wine merchant – if you bought the 2014, 2015, or 2016 from us, you already KNOW the deal! Whether it's Soave Classico, Spumante, or this Amarone della Valpolicella…you can’t EVER go wrong with the Magnabosco family. Whether the wines are bottled as Ca’Erto (as they are here in the States) or Monte Tondo (as they do internationally), the quality remains pristine!

70% corvina and 30% rondinella – lovingly tended on the vine for months, hand-harvested, dried for 4+ months, and then (THEN!) turned into wine. The way Amarone is made is simply fascinating – check out this video for more. It’s monstrously time-consuming, with ridiculously small yields...but the final product is so unique, lavishly delish, and downright memorable...there’s really nothing like it! Definitely not for the “super light, elegant wine” crowd, but if you like ‘em ripe and affable, generous and lip-smacking, this is IT, and just perfect for ridding your bones of that lingering winter chill. So rich and intoxicating with layers of fig paste, blueberry compote, cedar, molasses, black plum, toasted spices, star anise, clove, and dark cocoa. Utterly mouth-coating and long while retaining impeccable freshness and supreme balance. Great aging potential too. WE LOVE IT! Anyway, I better cool my jets – there’s not much – even for a Sunday! UNDER $40 and 95 POINTS?! Dang! Good luck – if you need a soulful liquid hug of warmth and comfort this season (and don’t we all?), then look no further!

Nestled in the gentle hills of Soave, just a few kilometers from Verona, the Monte Tondo (Ca'Erto) estate graces a slope that overlooks the valley. The soils in this region vary from volcanic to chalky, and combined with diverse microclimates, they contribute to the distinctive flavor profiles and unique style of the wines produced here.
