Molino Barbaresco Ausario 2019

Y’all. It’s here...it’s back...we can’t contain ourselves! (Dumps bucket of ice water over head.)

AHHHH! Beautiful BARBARESCO!!! Ausario (a single vineyard cru). MOLINO (that you all know and love). THE PRICE?!? This is a bountiful medley of vinous godliness that brings us to a skin-tingling sort of wine-drinking ecstasy just writing it. Oh, yeah...93 POINTS! PLEASE, please buy whatever you can. It’s been a few vintages since we got access to this...but we made use of every skill and Jedi mind trick we’ve learned over the decades in the wine biz to score this incredibly delicious, long-lived, gorgeous, and elegant example of the Piedmontese QUEEN that is Barbaresco...at the BEST PRICE IN THE WORLD! This is insanity, people, but you know, the good kind.

Crazy is what we do here. Quite good at it. The Molino brothers make beautiful, classical wines from their lovely I-want-to-move-to-Italy hillside vineyard and winery in Treiso. This might be the best wine from them...ever. Gorgeously perfumed notes of red roses, black tea, blood orange peels, and maybe some pristinely stored Havana cigars! She’s a beauty, no doubt! Spicy and bright, with a minty freshness to reign in all those cherry, pomegranate, and dusty raspberry notes...just structure for days and a perfect weight! Rich, but never heavy, supremely graceful, and displays the utmost elegance! Staying power too, this will last DECADES! At this price?!?! INCONCEIVABLE! Can’t stop...hit me with another ice bucket, STAT! Get a lot. Thank me later. While it lasts!

A wine and its territory. A unique name, created by the union between a noble vineyard and a special region in the commune of Treiso. Microclimate, soil, and old vineyards cooperate to make a long-lasting and full-bodied Barbaresco: it is the fruit of one of the most important Langa hills for the cultivation of Nebbiolo for Barbaresco.
