Bibi Graetz Testamatta Toscana 2018
SUBJECT: Mini-Marathon! Kicking Off with 100 Point Tuscan Red!
So long to summer! It’s been real, yo. Here comes FALL! (Side note: A heartfelt happy birthday to The Boss… Bruce Springsteen turns 73 today!)
MINI-MARATHON MADNESS is here, today, all day, or, at least as long as this relatively small selection of warehouse goodies last...!! We scrounged up cases of Tuscan goodness, Napa cabernet, Premier Cru Chablis, and a handful of others (6-7 all day, probably, but you never know when The Hand gets set loose among the stacks...) ALL AT CRAZY PRICING, probably, by far, the best the planet has ever seen.
WINE #1 —
What could be better than starting the day in Tuscany? With a 100 POINT wine from Bibi Graetz! This character exploded onto the Tuscan wine scene in 2000 and has been stirring things up with his sweeping rush to collect parcels of Tuscany’s oldest plantings of the region’s traditional varieties. “Testamatta” (meaning “crazy head” after the man, himself), is Bibi’s flagship – 100% sangiovese, fruit sourced from the best 5 vineyard plots, with vines starting at 50 years old, fermented and aged in used oak barrels – this is, without question, the hot, new(-ish) wine and burgeoning rockstar producer in Tuscany. Luxurious red berries and cherries, roasted sage, tingly peppercorns and depth, complexity and finish for days, months…years!! Yum factor = 9000.
100 POINTS!!! This will fly!
"Testamatta" is the best word to describe Bibi Graetz: a positive, creative and passionate person. Testamatta wine expresses the purity, minerality and transparency of Sangiovese from old vineyards on the top of the hills characterized by soils rich of stones.

About The Producer
The Bibi Graetz winery was founded in 2000 on the hill of Fiesole, overlooking Florence, where Bibi, who grew up in a family of artists, felt completely in love with wine and made it his life. Since the release of his first wines in 2000 and without any formal training, Bibi Graetz has managed to stir-up the Tuscan wine scene, and with the creation of Testamatta and Colore, has made his name eponymous with great Tuscan wines. Regularly scoring in the high 90’s with wine publications like Wine Spectator, Wine Advocate, and James Suckling, coupled with his unique and artisanal winemaking approach, Bibi Graetz’s wines have garnered a loyal following among wine collectors and wine trade.
