Brutocao Family Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Hopland Ranches Mendocino 2017 - Last Bottle

Brutocao Family Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Hopland Ranches Mendocino 2017

Well, THAT was quick. Man, I love this new holiday. Best belated Father’s Day ever!

SIXTEEN DOLLAR, 92-POINT cabernet? Si, ja, yes yes. BRING IT. Brutocao’s delicious cab comes from the Hopland area (the Bliss vineyard, planted in the 70s + 80s, and the Contento vineyard), and it’s a screaming-good buy at our goosebumpy price today in this mini-marathon madness. We bought every bottle we could scrape up, but it’s …uh…limited. Will FLY.

$16! Blackberry pie right out of the oven is the name of the game, packed with incense, lavender, and "did-I-just-eat-a-handful-of-blueberries?" flavors, with some vanilla bean action kicking in and coffee/mocha on the finish. Nice balance with the acidity but for sure on the toasty yummy side. Should be pretty excellent right away, the moment it hits your doorstep. Tearing into the box immediately is recommended. While it lasts…!!

Dry with a small amount of harshness in mid mouth. Tannins in the finish. Good fruit complexity. A good everyday wine

About The Producer

Brutocao Family Vineyards is a tale of two families who combined their passion and expertise to establish one of Mendocino County's most notable wineries. In 1910, the Brutocao family brought with them a love for wine when they emigrated from Treviso, Italy (a small town near Venice). Len Brutocao met Martha Bliss while attending the University of California, Berkeley. Martha's father, Irv, had been farming in Mendocino since 1943. After Len and Martha married, the families joined forces and continued to sell their grapes to well-known Sonoma and Napa wineries for many years before starting to make their own wine in 1980. They selected the Lion of St. Mark as their symbol of family tradition and quality. The heart of that quality is in their land: over 400 acres of vineyards in Hopland and 12.5 acres of Pinot Noir in Anderson Valley.
