*** There’s not much. I know, I know, we say that a lot, but 2006 vintage, 94-point bubbly? C’mon!
Before we get into it -- we are huge personal fans of Duval-Leroy, so about 10 cases of this is already gone (sweet!). The STYLE is SO our jam -- bright and toasty, layered with all the levels of Champagne flavors and complexity -- from piquant citrus to croissant dough to pear and caramel, all in perfect balance and just GLIIIIIDDDES across the palate. *** pours a bit more, because it is filling the room with the aromas... *** Anyway, this 100% Chardonnay, from 6 Grand Cru vineyards, all from 2006, of course (nice vintage), and is jaw-hangingly priced - you just don’t see Champagne at this level anywhere near $59. Read all the gushing press below, but trust your Napa Valley wine merchant -- this ROCKS. Special occasion stuff, but at this price?? Drink it every weekend, is our suggestion….but it will FLY!
