Telmo Rodriguez Gago Toro Tinta de Toro 2016 - Last Bottle

Telmo Rodriguez Gago Toro Tinta de Toro 2016

Oh baby, bust out the good stuff….Gago is BACK! Discovered some years back by us...somewhere??...we always FLIP for these incredibly polished, round, opulent wines and it has been TOO LONG!!

Wine Advocate 93 POINTS, 50% OFF, totally freakin’ badass wine from Toro, Spain with a mega-dope price! Generally a “not for the shy” type of wine, this vintage of Gago’s Red Blend is fantastic and more supple and silky than past years and WE. LOVED. IT. Yup, we drank it hours ago (OK, well, the staff drained it in record time, so that’s a good sign you’ll dig it too). Seriously juicy and RICH! Warm red fruits, like right out of the oven, gorgeously plush, with perfect cigar box whiffs and toasty warm spices...truly...wow. We totally dig this producer and we gotta say this is the best yet! SO making paella tonight and looking forward to my wine friends saying “WHOA, what is THIS...it’s killer!!” INDEED.

We got our cases...trust your happy Napa Valley wine merchant….you will LOVE this! Did we mention 93 points Wine Advocate? While it lasts!

Dehesa Gago is 100% Tinto de Toro (the local clone of Tempranillo). The intensity of this old vine fruit comes through even in this wine, vinified without oak, a pure expression.

About The Producer

Telmo was one of the first to rediscover vineyards of decades-old, bush-trained vineyards. He was a major force in elevating Toro to one of the most in vogue wine regions of Spain. The distinctive red soils produce a Tinto de Toro (the local clone of Tempranillo) with tremendous fruit concentration, ripeness, acidity, tannins and structure.
