LUCKY BREAK INDEED! This moniker is used ONLY when we get a certain particularly hard-to-get, man-we-can’t-believe-we-scored-some-at-all wine. Like…...THIS!! Holy moly! LEWIS??!!
Yes, Lewis. Hey, we were stoked too. 95 POINTS. Wine Spectator 93. LEWIS! The blockbuster ‘18 vintage to boot...incredible! If you like a light, friendly, easygoing Napa red...best hit delete right now. THIS IS NOT IT.
No, this is THRILLING, luxurious, opulent, pedal-to-the-metal, LAVISH Syrah, Cabernet, Merlot, Cab Franc goodness as only Lewis can do it, and has been since 1992! “I’d be thrilled to drink a bottle” says Jeb in his 95-point writeup, and YEAH, that’s putting it mildly. Huge, inky, bursting with toasty blue fruits, savory teriyaki, licorice, mocha and toffee, blueberry pie and deep concentration...it’s just so... SEXY! FYI: for those new to this winery, Randy Lewis is a pretty famous race car driver turned winemaker - you can Google him for more info, but suffice it to say that his wines are HARD to find (a lot goes to restaurants, in a normal world) and always score VERY highly. Plus, great great people.

Our wines begin as numerous small lots of fruit vinified by vineyard block, varietal, clone and rootstock.
Like a stream-side thicket of blackberries basking in hot afternoon sun, the 2018 Alec’s Blend captures the essence of summer. 57% Syrah, 28% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 1% Cabernet Franc this year’s blend boasts incredible color and layers of prodigious fruit with beguiling briar and vanilla spice. Hedonistic, youthful and seriously good with supple chocolatey tannins.
The 2018 Alec's Blend is a step up, offering a beautiful nose of crème de cassis, scorched earth, chocolate, and charred meat. It's rich, full-bodied, and concentrated, yet still shows restraint and purity, with terrific tannins.

In 1992 Randy and Debbie Lewis established a small family winery in Napa Valley and were later joined by their son Dennis in 1999.
We are literally hands-on in every aspect of vineyard management, winemaking, sales and distribution, and we thrive on this challenge and the relationships we cultivate in the process. It is our continuing goal to create world-class wines. Our total production is approximately 9,000 cases annually of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.
