Spring Valley Frederick Walla Walla 2015 - Last Bottle

Spring Valley Frederick Walla Walla 2015

Sorry, everyone. We saw your emails and have been trying for a year now. It’s been a long, painful wait for this longtime Last Bottle uber-fan-favorite but…like a phoenix rising over the Cabernet vineyards of Walla Walla, Washington, the blockbuster, wicked-delish Spring Valley returns!! TRIPLE 93-POINTER from all the hardcore critics, BEST PRICE you shall EVER see! Not for the shy!

This is one of those deeply concentrated, intense, and so lushly fruity Cabernet-based wines that the critics just can’t decide which fruit they are detecting. In this one bottling (read the full reviews below), we’ve got black cherry, cassis, dark cherries, red plums, mulberries, not to mention dusky spice, cedary herbs, and bouquet garni!! Who's right?? Who cares? We’ll drink a bottle of dusky mulberries all day long if it tastes like this!! At this price? C'mon!

Seriously though -- it’s a big, serious wine that drinks like it should cost at least $60+. At our price, a big ‘ol no-brainer. Great, powerful structure and length with ripe, succulent tannins and texture. MMMM!! This winery is just crushing it year after year (maybe why we couldn’t get any for so long!) with the wine press, and we KNOW you’ve been waiting --- so it’s CARPE DIEM time, who knows how long ‘til we get more!

The 2015 Frederick is a very complex wine with rich texture. This blend is layered with fruit, spice and lingering tannins.

About The Producer

The land that the Corkrum, Derby, and Elvin families farm today is rich with history dating back to the mid 1800’s, when current vineyard owner Shari Corkrum Derby’s grandfather Uriah Corkrum began farming in the area. Uriah experienced success farming in the 1880’s but unfortunately lost everything in the first great depression of 1893. He persevered though and acquired the land now known as Spring Valley in 1910. In 1993, Shari and Dean Derby planted the first grapes at Spring Valley. The first vintage of Estate grown and bottled Spring Valley Vineyard wines were produced with the 1999 vintage. The Derbys’ son Devin Corkrum Derby served as winemaker until his untimely death in 2004. Devin’s assistant and friend Serge Laville took over as winemaker and continues the legacy of Spring Valley Vineyard.
