Clos de Gat Har'el Merlot Judean Hills 2016 - Last Bottle

Clos de Gat Har'el Merlot Judean Hills 2016

We just blew your mind, didn’t we?

FULL STOP, we need your attention BIG TIME. This radically delicious wine (at over 50% OFF!) is basically UNHEARD-OF in the U.S.A., until we tasted it last year in Bordeaux (of all places, but hey) and were simply GOBSMACKED at the quality. Lovers of big but silky goodness, you HAVE to get a few of these babies! WOW!! So much to talk about….get some and then come back. You will be one of the very few, and very fortunate in this whole COUNTRY to have some!

CLOS DE GAT is situated in the foothills of the Judean Mountains, bordering Israel’s biblical Ayalon Valley, where Joshua defeated the Five Kings, and has a winemaking history dating back some 3000 years. Not 300 --- 3000 (predating the Romans by about 1000 years)!! In fact, the name “Gat” refers to an ancient grape press discovered at the site. The genius behind Clos de Gat is Eyal Rotem, owner, viticulturist and winemaker. Between his careful vineyard planting and management, and winemaking ability, acquired through an obvious natural gift, experience and training, he has consistently created internationally recognized, award winning wines. It regularly scores very highly by many wine publications, but is RARELY ever seen in the U.S. Until today!!

So what’s it LIKE, you crazy wine nuts are asking?? Har’el translates to “Mountain of God” in Hebrew, and if the level of deliciousness in this Merlot is any indication, perhaps there is some higher power at work. We don’t speculate, we DRINK IT.

Har' El translates to the Mountain of God in Hebrew.
