Le Petit Enclos Pomerol 2014
POMEROL?? The second label of the legendary Chateau L’Enclos? Wines that are incredibly hard to find? Made by Gilles Pauquet, consultant at Cheval Blanc?? For an absolutely melon-twisting, astounding price? Did we just win the lottery? Did you? No, we just tasted this earlier in the year in Bordeaux and bought all we could. We are literally the only retailer in America to even HAVE this wine --- it all gets consumed in France!
RUN, sprint, dive, spring to snag a few of these (really, we don’t have much). Pomerol, one of Bordeaux’s tiniest appellations, is a RARE beast, and from Chateau L’Enclos...well, you pretty much never see! This is a FIRST! Please do not miss!
Chateau L’Enclos, interestingly, is American owned, along with several other well-regarded Chateaux, by Stephen and Denise Adams, who have heavily invested in improving every aspect of the project, and well, you’ll see that when you open one of these bottles that we are going to send you ASAP. Think SMOKY, almost jammy, macerated strawberries. A whiff of dark cocoa powder. Black truffle. Vanilla. Cigar box. All in a surprisingly dark (for a second wine) and generous texture. Clean and pure and never heavy, this is just beautifully-made, rock-solid Pomerol for all-the-time drinking. CRAZY DEAL, too. We’re still shaking our heads…
Gonna go fast!
Situated on the western slope of Pomerol's famous plateau across three terraced plots of the appellation, one of them next to none other than Chateau Le Pin!

About The Producer
This is the second wine of Chateau L'Enclos in Pomerol from a prime cut of legendary dirt. With a tiny production and increasing demand, these wines are becoming extremely hard to find. Gilles Pauquet, who also consults at Chateau Cheval Blanc, crafts fleshy wines with silky tannins and lingering aromas of truffle, a sure sign of the very best of a Pomerol wine.
Pairing Suggestions
Beef Bourguignon! Yes, this is a famous Burgundian dish, but it will work well with this Pomerol.
