Ah, bliss. Sangiovese at its most drinkable, friendly and flavorful --- fresh, bursting red cherry, dried cherry, cranberry, plum...light and easy, silky and beautifully intense for something that is…well, $12. Madness.

A client favorite, the Bindi Sergardi family is LITERALLY royalty in this part of Tuscany, dating back to the mid-1300s when the family led an army that defeated the Aretines and were installed as governors of the Republic. As they have for 600+ years, they continue to farm grapes, olives, and animals on their landholdings. VERY cool story here for history buffs, check it out when you have time (after pouring a big glass of this and putting the pasta on to boil). While it lasts…!

My gratitude goes to God and to my ancestors who, in generous and protective conjunction, have permitted me to dedicate my life to contend and rejoice for my lands and with my lands.

I am also thankful to my family, which has provided me with never-failing encouragement in the difficult periods and which has accompanied me in the times of satisfaction when success has rewarded our undertaking.

The response which the land has given to my efforts has been strong, vital, and honest. I have derived unforgettable certainties from the land over the course of the long years which I have dedicated to it with passion.

It seems to me that what I survey at this juncture smiles both in the vigor of the vineyards in the summer and in the rigor of the vineyards in winter.

Today my children work with me and this mixture of blood and earth makes me feel eternal. It is an extraordinary sensation which I wish to share with the people who approach our wines.

About The Producer

Bindi Sergardi’s lands spread over 1000 hectares in the province of Siena.  The 100 hectares of vineyards are planted in the important DOCG of Chianti Classico, Chianti Colli Senesi and Chianti.

Tuscany is a land rich in history and culture. It is one of the world’s most ancient and famous lands for cultivating vineyards. Wine-making is part of the Tuscan DNA. In this region we live well: life is beautiful, the air is healthy, time goes by serene and ordered and full. Tuscany, homeland of Dante, Machiavelli, Boccaccio, Michelangelo, Leonardo, and Duccio di Buoninsegna, both satisfies and stimulates us. The Bindi Sergardi estates lie within the province of Siena, one of the most beautiful and ancient cities of Tuscany.

The Chianti Classico

Chianti Classico appellation lies in a beautiful hilly area between Siena and Florence. It is the oldest wine territory of the world: Cosimo III de’ Medici, Granduke of Tuscany, legally defined the boundaries of this area in 1716. A black rooster, its symbol, is present on all bottles of Chianti Classico. The Bindi Sergardi estates lie in the south part of the appellation, in the Comune of Castelnuovo Berardenga; given its history enwined with Siena and the proximity to the city, the wine produced in this municipality is considered to be the “most” Sienese Chianti Classico. The Sangiovese grape, thanks to the characteristics of the climate, terrains and altitude, reaches here its highest and unique expression.

The Chianti Colli Senesi

Chianti Colli Senesi is the wine produced in the hills surrounding the city of Siena, where vineyards have lined the slopes since antiquity. There are three main clusters of Chianti Colli Senesi wine production: north (Monteriggioni), southwest (Montalcino) and southeast (Montepulciano, Pienza, Chiusi). Chianti Colli Senesi has an appealing personality and grace which have made it popular for five centuries. This red wine is made with minimum 75% Sangiovese grapes, the traditional Tuscan varietal.

The Chianti

Chianti wine is made primarily with Sangiovese grapes grown in delimited production areas in the provinces of Siena, Florence, Pistoia, Pisa, Prato and Arezzo. The gentle, amply terraced hills and valleys of the area offer fine wine coming from vineyards which are traditional symbols of the Tuscan landscape. The beauty, history, sensations, and unique flavors of Tuscany, the most well-known and loved region of Italy in the world, are all reflected in this fresh and fruity wine.
