Champagne Gallimard Pere & Fils Blanc de Blancs Grande Reserve Chardonnay Brut NV - Last Bottle

Champagne Gallimard Pere & Fils Blanc de Blancs Grande Reserve Chardonnay Brut NV

Bubbly! Stupendous price! How do we love thee? Gallimard Grande Reserve at the best price EVER! What a time to be alive!!

Seriously, though, we get a lot of compliments on our small-producer Champagne selection (although we almost always sell out every time we offer one, so ya gotta be quick!!) and we are constantly looking to get more from these family-run, independent producers who make our lives so much better, sip after sip. Right?? We just got a container in from France and grabbed this first thing for a fine Monday offering.

Gallimard is one of our top producers, is produced at Les Riceys, in the southern (warmer) part of Champagne. AND ---- this is 100% Chardonnay so it’s PARTICULARLY round and lovely and generous, packed with flavors of lime, apricot, lemon creme, mineral and toasty spice notes. If you love the bigger style of Champagne, you NEED this in your mouth as soon as humanly possible. Rich and round, with a very persistent, deep finish. So yum. Amazing with good cheese. A crowd-pleaser for sure!! WHAT A PRICE! Get it while we got it…

The Champagne Gallimard, producers have been from father to son for 6 generations.  They develop their champagnes with the greatest respect for tradition and modern oenology, in the village of Les Riceys, famous for its fine Pinot Noir and Rosé des Riceys.

The Gallimard family has been producing Champagne since 1930, when Jules and Ernest Gallimard, winemakers then, decided to produce their first bottles. Then Pierre and Jean succeeded them. Today Didier and Arnaud, the current owners are at the head of a 10 hectares vineyards.

Their work and products have been rewarded by numerous wine guides; with presence in the Hachette Wine Guide since 1986, as well as numerous gold medals in various competitions such as the best chardonnays in the world, the Paris agricultural competition, or the Mondial du vin de Bruxelles.

About The Producer

Their vineyard is today composed of 10 hectares, located in the village of Les Riceys, the largest wine village Champenois but also the sole holder of the 3 Appellations Champenoises (Champagne, hillsides Champenois and the famous Rosé des Riceys) An atypical pinot noir, a specific and unique terroir bringing an exceptional maturity to their Pinot Noirs, thus revealing grapes particularly adapted to the macerations of the skin "The bleeding" for the vinification of our Rosé Champagne as well as our Rosé des Riceys. They cultivate the vine in the respect of the environment by reasoned viticulture. Our vineyard is mostly planted in Pinot Noir 85% and 15% Chardonnay, cut in Guyot, cord of Royat and Chablis.

The cellar is a superb 17th century vaulted stone cellars, where temperature and humidity are constant, offer optimal conditions for the aging of our Champagnes, especially for the vintage which will find its fullness during 5 years.
