Dolum Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Cask 11 Sonoma County 2019

Guess who’s back, JACK? Get in here and join the mega-deal wine party/bash/extravaganza because Dolum’s incredible 96 POINTS, you heard that right, NINETY-SIX – is yours today (if you scoot) for the mind-meltingly low price of TWENTY-FOUR SMACKAROOS!

That’s OVER 70% OFF the winery price!!! Madness, I tell you, madness. THIS is some crazy delicious wine at best-in-the-solar-system pricing! Seriously, IMPOSSIBLY good juice, y’all. I’m crushing on my glass, ‘cause I blew through both cases of this chronically drinkable 100% cabernet sauvignon I got last time we offered this. Mostly single-vineyard stuff from the Chalk Hill area of Alexander Valley, just west of Napa Valley proper, plus a dash of the Dolum estate in Oakville. The primary vineyard is across the street from the legendary Vérité’s holdings (too many 100 pointers to count, at a cool $400/bottle price tag, no biggie), on a complementary combo of ancient river bed and volcanic loam soils. This is a mind-the-gap perfect fit squarely between the earthy graphite and high-toned Bordeaux-style with the round, creamy opulence of classic Cali-cab. Just epic.

Oodles and oodles of baker’s chocolate, kirsch, violets and jasmine, blackberry, black cherry, black currant, mocha, espresso, rooibos tea, graphite, and on, and on, and on! Wonderfully elegant and gloriously powerful, this is something special – even if it were thrice the price! 96 POINTS at this price?!?! Less than last time, sadly, and this is likely the last of it…you know what to do, my friends!

About The Producer

Dolum also produces wine from a low-yielding 40+ year-old vineyard on Oakville crossroad in the eastern side of the AVA. The vineyard was originally planted in 1979. Today, second and third-generation family members meticulously tend the vines. Traditional winemaking and maturation in French oak have ensured a complex, full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon which will reward long-term cellaring.
