Woo hoo! Calling all hardcore Brunello collectors...!! CASANOVA DI NERI is back! I thought we pulled off the impossible last year when we scored a killer-diller $41 off their double 96 point 2017 vintage. I guess we underestimated ourselves! In the words of my favorite monster mash-up…RESET THE CLOCK! We’re back with a (we’re 99.9% sure this time) NEVER-to-be-seen-again $61 OFF on this DOUBLE 98 POINT 2018 vintage, absolutely slam-dunk classic!! CASANOVA DI NERI! This typically is “Marathon Only” material that we can never get enough of…savvy Last Bottlers have seen this pop-up for a second or two, maybe, but those who know, KNOW.

“Giacomo Neri builds wines for pleasure and sensual impact”  - Monica Larner, The Wine Advocate

Agreed. This is among the upper-stratosphere ELITE of the Brunello world and we eagerly snag all that we can every single vintage. Sadly, it is NEVER ENOUGH! This family-run estate sits on that revered short list of Italian producers to snag Wine Spectator's #1 wine, and this wine routinely grabs scores 95 and up. (We said DOUBLE 98 POINTS, right?) Go get ‘em!

Floral and rich, with powerful aromas of violets, wild iris, and lilacs. Deep black cherry flavors give this a solid and immediate POP! with pomegranate molasses, raspberry, and bergamot tea, coming on strong not far behind. Earthy spices of cardamom and cigar box accents provide a grounding depth, and the finish spirals prettily on and on – seemingly forever! This packs on weight and even more complexity with air – just terrifically complex, supremely crafted, and yes, SEXY stuff.  For special occasions, with people you love dearly, for sure!! It's so rare to see 98-POINTERS from this legendary estate at prices like this....did we mention $61 OFF?!?! Needless to say, there is VERY grab a few....they'll go in a flash!

One of the foremost producers in Montalcino, and one of the best to do it since 1971.

About The Producer

Casanova di Neri was founded in 1971 by Giovanni Neri, when he purchased and restored a 200-hectare working farm on the eastern side of Montalcino. At the time, there were only 30 producers in the new region, which had just received DOC status a few years prior. Giovanni set out to make the next great Italian red, and had his sights set on Brunello– and in 1978, the winery’s first Brunello di Montalcino was produced. In just a few decades, Casanova di Neri would be producing Italian reds to universal acclaim, earning Wine Spectator’s Wine of the Year award in 2006. The estate and its seven vineyards across the Montalcino region are family-owned to this day, currently led by second-generation owner, Giacomo Neri.
