Sleeper Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve Napa Valley 2019

Like a phoenix rising behind a triple blood harvest moon, carrying the World Cup trophy in its talons, all while singing Amazing Grace...the EPIC, best-ever SLEEPER RESERVE CAB is BACK, for a fleeting, rich, hedonistic moment.  

It’s HERE! Our FIFTEENTH VINTAGE. The mind reels. We think our Sleeper Reserve is better than EVER (2019 is a fantastic vintage here in Napa), and we have NEVER, EVER, NO WAY, NEVER raised the price since way back in the old days. The sourcing? Still filed away next to the ark of the covenant in Hangar 51 out in New Mexico, but trust your friendly wine merchant – this is supremely, devastatingly, shockingly great stuff! And the price!?!? I swoon. 

2019, folks. As good as Napa gets...concentrated like 2018 but with a higher level of complexity, balance, and longevity...like 2014. We had some of the best raw material for this Sleeper ever...and that is saying something! If you love rich, sexy, PLUSH, elegant, and round Napa cab, don’t do ANYTHING else for the next minute until you lock in some!! Savvy LB clients know what a rockstar cab this truly is – we sell out every year, and man, we just wish we could tell you what’s in it!! Lawyers say no, of course, booo. 

** Side note: we opened a bottle during our Holiday Marathon after-party. And then another. And then...BBQ ribs and another. We all agreed it was another colossal triumph of winemaking, and then we all took a nap in the parking lot. **

We can’t tell you what the prices of these wines in their original label go for, but we CAN tell you this is a MASSIVE discount, considering the crazy-good pedigree, vineyards, masterful winemakers, and gotta-have-’em, famously known producers (this is literally all true). THIS WINE --- super forward as is typical, brimming over with dark purple massiveness, silky and mouthcoating freshly crushed boysenberry, melted dark chocolate, one of those expensive, exotic vanilla beans in a glass container, black currants, and a bit of heady espresso bean...surprisingly fresh on the back end which keeps the energy going on and on. It's long, expansive, and flavor-packed, a wine that will drink terrifically for a decade or so if you can wait...but we can’t, and we’ve been doing this since 2005! Plush and ripe and “modern” cabernet you know and love from the Napa Valley, and of course, drinking WAY over its price. That’s why we call it Sleeper, after all!  

It’s hard to even type, knowing what all made this beast and what it costs normal humans. $59!!! This is a Reserve wine to sneak into tastings of $200 cabernets and just watch what happens! Do. Not. Miss!
