Maison Roche De Bellene Chambolle-Musigny Vieilles Vignes 2020

SELLOUT ALERT!!!

Wow! It's rare enough for us to find Burgundy at all…but to get it from old vines, from a pristine village like Chambolle-Musigny, made under the watchful eye of legendary Burgundy winemaker Nicolas Potel?!?! That might be a Last Bottle first! But wait…there’s more!! A whopping 54% OFF on this 94 POINT beauty??? And FREE STEAK KNIVES with purchase?!?! Huzzah!!!

Ok, that’s a no go on the steak knives… but still! This is going to flat-out MOVE, so don’t be left empty-handed! Maison Roche de Bellene is a Burgundy estate that deserves your attention. Begun by the Potel family, just outside of the village of Volnay back in 1964, this house has thrived under the guidance of second generation vintner Nicolas Potel. Before taking over for his father, Nicolas set-out to learn pinot noir from legendary sites in Australia’s cool climate Margaret River (Leeuwin, Mount Mary) and with California’s pinot master, Tom Dehlinger, before returning to France to study at the historic Georges Roumier estate in Chambolle-Musigny. Nicolas’s wines are the perfect blend of classic Burgundy, with a thoughtful nod to the modern style of crafting elegantly powerful pinot noirs.

The wine? So glad you asked!!! EPIC. Modern. Classic. Ethereal. Rich. This is all that and a bag o’ chips, y’all! Hailing from some crazy 55-75 year old vines on a hilly south-east exposure of clay and limestone, this showcases the revered Chambolle elegance, with delicate red flowers and bright red cherries luring your nose straight away. But then you sip and KAPOW! Things turn rich and spicy, with black cherries, toasted black peppercorns, cranberries, red plums, new leather, and clove…slightly hedonistic, but pure class through and through! Give me this with a seared rack of lamb, maybe crusted in pistachios and herbs, with a bit of pomegranate molasses…just can’t be beat! I mentioned the whole 54% OFF thing, right?  Hope you got some!!! This will FLY!

Happy Halloween!
