Beau Vigne Proprietary Red Reserve Napa Valley 2012

Zing! FLYING!

Going out with a BANG, as they say, or a big ‘ol Beau Vigne mini-stash from the deepest, darkest depths of the cellar —ready to have your cabernet-lovin’ noggin’ rocked???!!

*There's…like…a paltry amount of cases. So….

YUP. Wow. We had to hold on to the side of the bar, too, when we tasted this roller-coaster. WHa ma ma WHOA! Deep, dark, so….SULTRY, I'd say, drinking at PEAK, so round and luscious and neuron-scramblingly long and complex. We’ve been privy to many a fine mega-deal from this much-loved producer, as you all know over the years, and, like the boss, this has aged spectacularly and will hit all your plush Napa red buttons, and HOW.

THE PRICE. It is something that, as seasoned wine-slingers, we still gawk at. $91 OFF retail, packed and stacked with purple-ness, violets, Asian incense, cherry extract, licorice and melted dark chocolate, with a wonderful secondary (tertiary) finish that ONLY comes from pristine perfect bottle age. 2012 was a fine one, indeed, and this will NEVER come ‘round again. Early bird, worm, all that…happy mini-marathoning!

“One of my favorite wineries, Beau Vigne’s vineyard sits at a high elevation in the southern Napa Valley, back Soda Canyon Road, overlooking the Pritchard Hill Gap as well as the Stagecoach Vineyard. The AVA for these wines is Atlas Peak and the soils are all volcanic origin. This winery is currently on a qualitative roll.”— Robert Parker
