Off the chain, hook, crook, up the river, we don’t even know anymore, we are slinging wine like madmen here in the warehouse, freewheeling with pizza, kombucha, Stumptown nitro coffee, Pliny the Elder, 96+ POINT ROBERT MONDAVI TO-KALON CABERNET (yeah, you saw THAT right!!) and the new Weezer cover album -- oh, whatever, check this OUT and do it quick!! Wow!


This is $175 at the winery. TO-KALON! One of Napa’s finest vineyards, of course, in Oakville, and from the fantastic, powerful 2015 vintage, with a tongue-rattling 96+ point score from the Wine Advocate --- how do we do it? WHY are we doing it? Open another bottle, whatever!


“Full-bodied, rich and concentrated in the mouth, the ripe, opulent black fruit is well supported by velvety tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing long and spicy.” That sums it up pretty well, we think...seriously, this is a wine we pretty much all know and love...a classic since the late 60s!! Ah, we’re not even going to keep going, this is probably already sold out…! Wonder what we’ll do next???

A testament to Napa’s grand cru vineyard site, To Kalon’s signature dark-fruited, dried herb complexity is seamlessly integrated with sweet oak spices of vanilla bean and toasted almonds, sending a wave of deliciously intense flavors across the richly dense palate in a tasty expression of power and elegance.

Aging/Cooperage: The grapes were hand-harvested with three stages of strict sorting: first, on the vine, then by individual clusters, and then again by single berry following de-stemming. The selected grapes went directly into traditional French oak tanks for cold soak, fermentation and extended maceration – a total of 37 days of wine to skin contact– maximizing the extraction of varietal character and complexity while keeping the tannins round and supple. The new wine was drained and gently pressed into 100% new French-oak barrels for malolactic fermentation, assuring seamless integration of fruit and oak. The final blend was assembled through repeated tasting trials over twenty (20) months of barrel aging. The wine was bottled in August of 2017.

About The Producer

Robert Mondavi established his namesake winery in 1966 with a vision to create Napa Valley wines that would stand in the company of the world's finest. He chose To Kalon Vineyard in the heart of the Napa Valley as the home for Robert Mondavi Winery. This first-growth vineyard, located in Oakville, California, is renowned for producing some of the finest Cabernet Sauvignon wines in the world, as well as for its Sauvignon Blanc grapes, from which Mr. Mondavi crafted his signature wine, Fumé Blanc.

Along with To Kalon Vineyard, Robert Mondavi Winery sources grapes from some of Napa Valley's finest vineyards, including Stag's Leap (Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc) and Carneros (Pinot Noir and Chardonnay).

Mr. Mondavi believed that wines should reflect their origins, that they are the product of the soil, the climate, and the careful stewardship of those precious resources. He also believed in combining the newest techniques and technology with time-honored winemaking traditions.
