Jada Malstria Paso Robles 2012

Can you pour Mom’s-fresh-baked cherry pie into a fine wine glass? You CAN! For way more than 50% OFF, too! Flavor bomb!

Seriously -- cherry pie. If you like a juicy, jammy, pedal-to-the-metal red, this is it. If you want something fine and delicate...best look elsewhere. Take it from Jeb Dunnuck (when he was with Wine Advocate): “Paso is Rhone territory...But there’s some brilliant Cabernets out there from Daou, l’Aventure, Justin, Jada and a few others. #seriouswines

Cabernet! Syrah! Merlot! Whipped into hedonistic vinous pleasure, somehow (#howdowedoit) scored by us at a wicked-killer price. Zing! As noted, this is a juicyfruit bomb, with copious sexy toasty oak, incense sticks and strawberry jam...and there’s a bit of peppery goodness, blood orange and clove happening, too.

Drink it now, immediately, no waiting, preferably with something slathered in BBQ sauce! But do it quick...it’s Sunday and that means we usually don’t have much! Have a great day!

Jada Vineyard lies in an incredible pocket in the hills of the Santa Lucia Coastal Range on the west side of Paso Robles.  A low spot (1700 ft) in the range directly west of the vineyard funnels cool coastal air from the Pacific Ocean through the corridor commonly referred to as the Templeton Gap.  Blessed with abundant sunshine throughout the growing season, the maritime influence moderates the heat and provides incredibly cool evenings.  As a result, harvest generally occurs near the end of October and the beginning of November.  This long maturation process allows for superb development of color & intensity in character while maintaining acidity.

About The Producer

In 1999, the Messina family purchased 90 acres of hillside land on the west-side of Paso Robles in an area known as the Templeton Gap/Willowcreek District along the Santa Lucia Highlands.

Initially barley, 11 varietals & 19 clones now comprise 65 acres of estate vineyard at Jada.

In 2005, the first Jada wines (1400 cases) were produced at neighboring Denner Vineyards.

Jack of Hearts Petit Verdot Blend, recognized as one of the first distinctive Bordeaux blends to come out of the Paso Robles AVA.

In 2008, construction on a 9600 square foot, gravity-flow production facility and winery was completed.

Within one year of opening the tasting room (April 2009), Jada’s wine club had grown to over 1,000 members and our Jersey Girl Syrah took home the coveted Chairman's Class Award at the Long Beach Grand Cru.

Jada now produces 3,000 cases of award-winning, all-estate Rhone & Bordeaux-style wines and over 2,000 members are actively enrolled in the wine club program.
