Chateau Belle Assise Coureau Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 2015

Grand Cru St. Emilion! PERFECT! Just what we needed for tonight!! 93 POINTS (plus 92 from Dunnuck) and another staggeringly great 2015 vintage Bordeaux at the best price on the planet!

“...medium-bodied, seamless, seductive style that’s just impossible to resist.” --JS

Stoked! We never get enough Bordeaux, and couldn’t agree more with JS -- this is PERFECT drinking right now, humming away with warm, round, generous harmony and flowing with sweet ripe red berries, incense and sandalwood, a finishing note of cocoa powder, all in a silky and succulent texture. SO. GOOD. Shockingly so, at our price, we think! This is a relatively new producer and man, so far, so good -- did we mention 93 points?

We do not have much to go around however...we suggest moving with purpose and agility today to grab this before we sell out! OK! While it lasts…!

2015 St. Emilion vintage has been lauded as the supercharged twin of 2009/2010 and terrific value can be found across the board. This wine is no exception.

About The Producer

Château Belle Assise Coureau was bought by a group of friends in 2013 under the initiative of Jean Pierre Beltoise, former race car driver and winner of the Monaco grand prix (Formula 1) and Alain Garitey, Parisian lawyer. Lionel Gallais runs the Estate and asks Paul Junet, young wine-maker born in Saint-Emilion, to express the full potential of this beautiful terroir.

The Château de Belle-Assise Coureau is located on the gentle sandy slope to the south of the limestone plateau of St-Emilion. The 15,5 hectares vineyard surrounds the House, planted on a ground of ancient sands, crossed by underground veins of gravel. Here, the Merlot and the Cabernet Franc, 35 years of age in average, express marvellously their qualities.
