Tenuta Pierazzuoli Chianti Montalbano Cantagallo Riserva 2015 - Last Bottle

Tenuta Pierazzuoli Chianti Montalbano Cantagallo Riserva 2015

‘15 Cantagallo Riserva is HERE! This has truly been one of our “I’ve never tasted Chianti this good” wines for the last 2 years (whenever they will sell us some!!) and the newest Riserva is ASTOUNDINGLY delicious. MIRACULOUS, almost, at the price…we just met with them at VinItaly a few weeks ago, and they never cease to massively overdeliver. Wow!

Just a stunner in 2015. The Riserva is warm and round and perfectly balanced with good acidity and complexity. This tastes like something MUCH more pricey...but let’s get back to the ambrosial goodness. Cherries, of course! Fresh, dried, red, black, it’s all about cherries and roses and rose petals, with whiffs of leather and Asian spices...terrifyingly easy to drink and love -- “you gotta try this”-levels of delish. Crazy at our price!

Cantagallo is a true Agritourismo, too -- a working organic farm and winery, making olive oil and other products, plus they have rooms to rent with a pool, a fine restaurant, too --- we’re not exactly travel guides, but check it out if you are ever in the Florence/Siena area - here’s a link to it.

Oh, and did we mention, as the word on Cantagallo’s fantastic wines gets out, we get a little less every year? Grab it now...

Sharp but not aggressive attack, strong
mineral structure, smoky, oak spice. Fine structure.
Fruity final sensation with good persistence.
