Chateau Ste. Michelle Cabernet Sauvignon Canoe Ridge Esate Horse Heaven Hills Columbia Valley 2014 - Last Bottle

Chateau Ste. Michelle Cabernet Sauvignon Canoe Ridge Esate Horse Heaven Hills Columbia Valley 2014

91-POINT lush, dark Cabernet for $20?? Uh, yeah….

This is just bonkers, ridonkoulously good for the price we scored -- there is no other way to say it (without coming to your house and dancing around while wildly gesticulating, gushing with love for this wine). Reminding us VERY much of something closer to our home (good ‘ol Napa), this will blow away any preconceptions you may have had about this venerable Washington winery. Seriously --- if you had put a glass in from of us and said “guess”, we’d have said $50-$80 range Napa Cab. Quite astonishing, really. A HUGE no-brainer if you love big, dark, plush Cabernet.

Speaking of HUGE, let’s talk about the caliber of the fruit and power in this wine. Rich and mouthcoating, it is packed and stacked with black cherries, blueberry and anise, sweet French oak and sandalwood aromas, finishing long and spicy with pie crust and toasted spices. Very silky tannin, too, not a chunky beast at all -- just fine and belting out some serious yum. Amazing, amazing at our price. Wow! Throw a case in the cart --- you’ll want more than you think!!! While we got it….

As Napa natives we drink a lot of great Cabernet. The only downside? The good stuff doesn't come cheap. So when we tasted this beauty and saw the price, we knew we had to work something out - and we did! This glorious single vineyard Cab from one of Washington's most esteemed producers is a fine reminder of the outstanding quality and affordability that comes from our neighbors to the north.
