Sleeper Brut Reserve Extended Tirage 2011 - Last Bottle

Sleeper Brut Reserve Extended Tirage 2011

Oh no you didn’t!! Oh ya we did! Wait, what is today - Saturday? Well, good, because we don’t have nearly enough of this to go around. YES, you are seeing THAT right --- OVER 70% OFF the original retail price of this luscious bubbly. 70% OFF?! This incredible offer has been a long time coming…some of you will remember the story of us purchasing the old Robert Hunter wines a few years back when the winery closed its doors...this is the very LAST of that incredible purchase!! If you know, you know!

Do whatever you must to lock this in (killer bubbly!!!) and get WAY more than you think you will want --- it’s a long story (below) but trust your wine merchant! OK, here’s a quickie version:

  • Highly regarded Sonoma winery closes doors.

  • Winery has a lot of rich, fine, complex and fantastic bubbly that was ready to label in its cellar.

  • We get a call and make a spectacular, eye-popping, head-shakingly astounding deal.

  • We label that same wine under our label, Sleeper, and sell it for way, WAY less.

  • An era of peace, harmony and ambrosial, bacchanalian bliss descends on the land (until you run out, anyway).

Seriously, though, this is just terrific juice -- ridiculously satisfying at $19!! Here’s the long story. In the past, we sold a wine from Sonoma called Robert Hunter. GREAT wines, estate vineyards, and we got amazing deals. Robert Hunter actually specialized in sparkling wines --- TERRIFIC sparkling wines. Think SCHRAMSBERG, MUMM, etc. Sadly, the winery closed its doors last year but they had some cases of EXTENDED TIRAGE bubbly (unlabeled, as it was about to be sold) that just took our breath away. We made a deal to buy it all. This wine has been resting gently on its own lees (yeast sediment that is crucial to complexity in Champagne and sparkling wines) for five long years. It is clean, pure, fresh and bright, delicious and complex!! Anyway, sorry, got off track there…we bottled it under our label and HERE. IT. IS!

Fresh baked biscuits, Meyer lemon, crisp pear, almond, a hint of ginger and apple and orange blossom and finishes with citrusy minerality. Fresh, and zingy and richly complex! GET. IT. Whatever you do today...get it!

About The Producer

As you know, we here at Last bottle World Headquarters are longtime Napa Valley locals. We grew up with, schooled with, delivered pizzas and newspapers and partied with winemakers, vineyard managers, winery GMs and dozens of now wine-industry people. Now and then one of them will call and offer us a bit of "extra" wine - which we bottle under our exclusive label Sleeper (def: an unexpected success).
